Our Intern Development Program is the best way to introduce you to a career at Giant Eagle. You'll have a chance to work on real projects, solve strategic business problems, interact with leaders and present your ideas to Senior Executives. Giant Eagle's Intern Development Program will help prepare you for a career in grocery retail and potentially for long-term employment with our Company.

Each year the intern positions we hire for vary based on Corporate, Retail Management (Giant Eagle/Market District & GetGo), and Retail Support Center (Warehouse) needs. 

Summer 2023 Opportunities

The upcoming Summer 2023 Intern Development Program will be hiring for the following positions:

Retail Management Internships

At the core of our business, interns will have the resources to focus on a multitude of business skills - including finance and accounting, merchandising, and sales. Our Supermarket and Fuel & Convenience experience will increase your operational awareness and prepare you to lead others.

Business Services Group Internships

Our offices - based in Pittsburgh - give interns the ability to specialize in a Corporate department, while working cross-functionally within other departments. Supporting our stores and RSCs will lead your career to endless possibilities. Corporate internships opportunities include: Analytics, HR, IT, Merchandising, Marketing and Real Estate.

Program Highlights

  • Focused on engaging talented college graduates in the retail industry
  • All interns will participate in projects, solve strategic problems, interact with leaders, and share their ideas to Senior Executives throughtout the program
  • Work side by side with experienced Team Members, and gain exposure to real-world business projects
  • After successful completion, our interns are better prepared for a career in Store or Warehouse Supply Chain Management or a Business Services group support role.
  • Considered for long-term employment with Giant Eagle.

Requirements​​​​​​​

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program with an accredited college
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Actively participate in on going career development discussions
  • ​​​​​​​Willingness to continuously grow both soft and technical skills
