Keith, GoGetter & U.S. Navy Veteran
How did you come to work for GetGo?
In 2006, I left Federal Service as an IT Specialist GS-12. I decided I wanted to pursue a less stressful work life, but I wanted to remain in customer service. I was hired by Gas America, a convenience store chain that was later purchased by Speedway. I took a 3 year break and worked for Wal-Mart, only to realize that I really enjoyed and missed the convenience store environment. Eventually, I was hired by Ricker's which was later acquired by Giant Eagle.
I'm currently a GoGetter at our 151st Street GetGo location in Carmel, IN. I truly enjoy the opportunity to provide our guests with exceptional service, which includes everything from processing checkouts, cleaning the store and preparing their next meal. I also enjoy seeing people as repeat customers.
Can you describe your military career?
I served in the United States Navy from 1984 until my release from reserve obligations in 1993. I am a Desert Storm Veteran. After that, I went to work for the Federal Government until 2006. While in the Navy, my primary duty was Disbursing Clerk, which means I maintained Officer and Enlisted payroll accounts. At that time, all payroll accounts were computed and recorded by hand. My other primary duty was to serve as the ship's Search and Rescue (SAR) Swimmer during battle drills or when providing aid to a vessel in distress. My other duties included Helmsmen, Small Boat Coxin, Armed Escorts, Fire Team Member and much more.
What three words would you use to describe GetGo?
Clean. Freshness. Convenience.
A "fun fact" about Keith:
While I dislike televised sports, I adore going to any game with a crowd of fans.
