Name: Reneé M. Richardson, PharmD
What is your role and how long have you worked for Giant Eagle?
My title at Giant Eagle is Pharmacist, Community Partnerships. My role is to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with Schools of Pharmacy, organizations, and employer groups that we partner with, within our communities. I am the primary preceptor for both of our Community Residency programs, and I also look for ways to bring revenue streams into the Pharmacy Department with our community partners.
What do you like most about working at Giant Eagle?
I like the opportunities that have been given to me to grow both personally and professionally, such as developmental classes and participation in different Business Resource Groups, as well as the autonomy associated within the positions I have held.
Who has helped you develop personally and in your career as a mentor or advisor?
Deb Krasnow who is the Senior Director of Managed Care in the Pharmacy Department has been an amazing mentor and advisor to me within my career in Pharmacy and at Giant Eagle. Voni Woods, VP of Prepared Foods and Sushi, has also been a mentor to me and has provided me with a non-pharmacist look at navigating situations and developing myself.
Is there an accomplishment you are most proud of?
I am proud of continuously growing and pushing myself to be the best me I can be. This has allowed me to grow in my career at Giant Eagle.
In one word how would you describe your leadership style?
What advice would you give your younger self?
It is okay to take risks in your career. It is in those moments that confidence is built, and lessons are learned.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
I am married with three boys, so life can be a bit hectic at times. I am very good at keeping a schedule (in my phone, on my Outlook calendar, and in an agenda) so I can visualize my plans and prioritize what I need to do for work and home. When I leave work for the day, I have become very thoughtful about not engaging in work that does not need immediate attention during family time.
