Q: Does Giant Eagle hire interns?
A: Yes. Giant Eagle hires summer interns in Retail Operations and certain corporate departments. We also hire Engineering and Pharmacy interns year-round.
Q: What are the basic requirements for a Giant Eagle internship?
A: Prospective interns must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at an accredited college with the minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Undergrads must be entering their junior or senior year at the time of the internship. Pharmacy interns must be in or accepted to an accredited pharmacy school.
Q: When does Giant Eagle recruit for summer interns?
A: Giant Eagle does the majority of our college recruiting during the fall semester. Generally, we interview intern applicants between September and early November and extend offers before students begin winter break.
Q: How do I apply for an internship position with Giant Eagle?
A: All internship applications must be submitted through this web site. Begin the process by searching for the keyword “internship” using the Search Jobs mechanism on this page (or any page). The job postings that return from your search will each have a red ‘Apply’ button that will take you to the online application and assessment. Q: Can an internship with Giant Eagle lead to full-time employment?
A: Giant Eagle’s internship program is designed to provide students with experiences that will help prepare them for full-time employment in our organization. We evaluate intern performance throughout the program and provide feedback to help students develop professionally. At program completion, successful interns will be given a full-time offer to join the Company upon graduation from their degree programs.

Q: Does Giant Eagle only recruit from certain schools?
A: No. We welcome applicants from any accredited degree program.
Q: Does Giant Eagle hire graduating seniors or new grads?
A: Giant Eagle generally reserves entry-level professional roles for our former interns, but you are also welcome to apply online if there is a particular role that appeals to you.
Q: Can I apply for more than one position?
A: Yes. We encourage you to apply for any position for which you are qualified.
Q: Why do I need to take an assessment as part of my application?
A: The Giant Eagle assessment helps to measures candidate fit based on our Core Values and skills.
Q: Can I get a copy of the assessment?
A: Results of online and other assessments are confidential and are not provided to candidates.
Q: What is the interview process like?
A: The Giant Eagle Recruiting Team is committed to providing an informative and respectful interview process to every candidate. After reviewing your application and/or resume, the team will determine if you should participate in a phone interview with one of our recruiters. If that interview is successful, you will then meet with the hiring manager. Candidates selected by the hiring manager will receive an offer and undergo a background check and drug test.
Q: Does Giant Eagle hire students who are not U.S. citizens?
A: Giant Eagle does not sponsor non-U.S. citizens at the college level. We will only sponsor work visas and green cards in very rare instances where specialized skills and experience are required.
