Assist with the implementation of programs and processes aimed at maintaining the quality and accuracy of Nutrition Facts Panels, marketing vehicles, and recipes. Provide sound guidance regarding nutrition information, compliance with FDA & USDA food labeling laws, food safety, recipes, and customer-focused wellness and nutrition initiatives.
Complete nutrition analysis using Genesis R&D and/or NutriGen software on standardized recipes for perishable lines of business, including Prepared Foods, Bakery, and Deli.
Assist with review of all marketing vehicles (i.e. tags, signage, brochures) containing recipes, nutrition content and/or claims prior to print to ensure accuracy/validity.
Maintain accurate ingredient statements and allergen declarations in Retail Pricing.
Maintain advanced knowledge of trends in the food industry, especially with regard to nutrition, including FDA and USDA mandates regarding nutrition labeling
Review and track first-round Own Brand product labels for validity of nutrition facts panels, ingredient statements, allergen statements, nutrition claims, and recipes.
Maintain the standard for “Dietitian Picks” with regard to products and recipes. Develop and implement Team Member training on various nutrition-related topics.
Proactively interface with marketing, merchandising, Daymon, Topco, and suppliers/vendors
Work with a team of RDs to develop dietetic content and nutrition guidance to interdepartmental teams in support of company wellness initiatives.
